After winning back-to-back Super Bowls, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had the chance to pull off something no other team has done in NFL history: a Super Bowl three-peat.
But the Chiefs fell way short against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, going down 34-0 in the third quarter before ultimately losing by a final score of 40-22.
Now, Kansas City has some offseason decisions to make if they hope to get back to the big game. They likely need to address the offensive line while they wait for tight-end Travis Kelce to make his retirement decision.
With Kelce, 35, on the tail-end of his NFL career, the former Cincinnati Bearcats star had been labeled a potential cap casualty. But Kelce wasn't the only player on the Chiefs that has been named a cut candidate. Nate Taylor of The Athletic believes wide receiver Skyy Moore could be on his way out.
"The Chiefs don’t have an ideal candidate for this category," Taylor wrote. "Another way to create a small amount of space is by releasing Moore, the 2022 second-round pick. Moore has struggled in the past three years and hasn’t done enough to have a defined role in the offense. The Chiefs would save $1.6 million by releasing him, according to Over The Cap, with just $467,819 in dead money."
Moore was the No. 54 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan. He showed promise in his first two seasons in Kansas City, recording 43 catches for 494 yards and one touchdown. He also got into the end zone in Super Bowl LVII against the Eagles.

This year was a little different for Moore, as he only played in six games due to an abdomen injury he suffered in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers.
