Cleveland Browns Have Huge Quarterback Update
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns add another chapter to their quarterback saga. The position has been unstable since starting QB Deshaun Watson was ruled out for the season. Now, they have some instability at the quarterback position to deal with.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson Out of Concussion Protocol

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski stated QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson was out of the concussion protocol. However, Stefanski did not comment on who the starting quarterback would be for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Cleveland Browns Quarterback Debate

Before Thompson-Robison got hurt, he did not do quite enough to secure the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback job as a rookie from UCLA. This season, he is 1-2 as the starting quarterback. He has 429 passing yards, just one touchdown pass, and a whopping four interceptions.

The question becomes who is the alternative if the Cleveland Browns decide to steer away from Thompson-Robinson. Well, some people may make the argument that veteran QB Joe Flacco should retain the job. He started in last week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

How did Flacco do in that game? There were encouraging signs he may retain the job. Flacco had 254 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and just one interception despite the loss. We will have to see if this performance convinces Stefanski to give Flacco another chance.
