The Washington Commanders, under Jayden Daniels and Dan Quinn, surprised the entire NFL last season, advancing to the NFC Championship game.

With Quinn the main voice in the locker room, as he looked to establish a culture that fans would be proud of, what he has built, along with the help of Daniels and veterans like Bobby Wagner and Zach Ertz, has transformed the franchise.

We often hear coaches scout players when they are looking at improving the roster, but rarely do we hear players scout their head coach.

Daniels, on the Gruden Goes Long podcast, detailed what makes Quinn so great.

“Love him,” Daniels said. “Players coach, he take care of us, he wants the best for us, and he's always looking for ways to improve. This offseason I had a conversation with him and he's like man I want to see you take I got something for you that I want to see you take this next step and I think it's going to be better for you and the whole team too. So it's that coach, where it's like man he feels like he has to learn too, he's going to challenge me, I'm going to challenge him.”

Our own Mike Fisher has detailed the four types of head coaches.

The Drill Sergeant, the Professor, The Buddy, and The Uncle, and it is the "uncle" that Quinn falls under.

Known for his ability to develop relationships and chemistry with his players, Quinn has been the driving force in creating an environment that allows the franchise to focus on football and achieve something together as a group.

After a superb first season, it is clear that Quinn has a vision for his year in Year 2, and you can bet that Daniels will be at the center of it.

Let the challenge commence.
