Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott saw his season end prematurely in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons after he suffered a hamstring injury.
Now, in full rehab mode, as he looks ready to attack the offseason, it is a slow and steady approach because, as we know, if there's one injury you can't rush back from, it's a hamstring.
But Prescott is in a good mood regarding his injury, and he made a rather definite statement about when he will return.
"I'm not gonna put a timeline on it, but I'll be ready for the first game and when anything matters and very, very ready," Prescott said via dallascowboys.com. "I'm feeling good. I'm doing more and more. The last two weeks have been huge and progressive for me."
So that is a positive and the hope is that Dak doesn't miss too much time this offseason, and by the sounds of it, he might not miss much at all.
The Cowboys underwent significant change this offseason with Brian Schottenheimer and his new staff, and the winds of change have blown through The Star.
There is an emphasis on building relationships from the coaching staff, and as far as a team identity, Schottenheimer wants a tough, physical football team, and every member of the coaching staff has echoed that sentiment.
But Dak drives this ship, and with him on the mend and seemingly in a good place in his recovery, he will need to hit the ground running in Schottenheimer's offense, and by Prescott's words, Week 1 can't come quickly enough.
