Cowboys 'Fear Factor' Draft Offers 2 'Easy Solutions'

The Dallas Cowboys' draft needs, for most, are obvious, with receiver and running back at the top of the wish list for fans and media members alike.

There are others on the defensive line, offensive line, and the secondary, but the consensus is that Dak Prescott will be getting a new weapon.

Exactly who, though, is shrouded in mystery, with multiple options at both running back and receiver.

With the offense being CeeDee Lamb or bust in 2024 and the run game leaving a lot to be desired despite Rico Dowdle's second-half resurgence, not many players on the offensive side of the ball "scare" defenses.

"Easy solution. Deep wide receiver and running back classes," ESPN's Ben Solak writes. "Both positions are best on Day 2, though I wouldn't hate the top of the receiver class (Texas' Matthew Golden or Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan) in Round 1, nor would I hate North Carolina RB Omarion Hampton (ideally with a small trade-back)."

All arrows are pointing toward an explosive receiver like Golden or even McMillan in the first round, and given how deep this running back class is, even a second or third round choice at the position could see a starter walk through The Star's doors.

With the free agency wave having a defensive feel, the offense now seems like the "logical" place for the draft to be focused on.

Whether or not it will be receiver or running back is unknown, but one thing is for sure - Dallas' first-round pick has to be used on an offensive weapon.

Why? Apart from Lamb, the Cowboys don't have any fear factor.
