Cowboys Nail Zack Martin Replacement In Latest Mock Draft

All offseason, we have heard the Dallas Cowboys' biggest needs are at receiver, running back, defensive line, and corner.

While the offensive positions have taken precedence with the likes of Tetairoa McMillan and Matthew Golden now seen as the picks for the Cowboys, but not all have Dallas going that route.

Let's not forget that the offensive line has a hole or two in it as well.

While Brock Hoffman is looming as the one to take over from Zack Martin at right guard, there are plenty of talented prospects in the draft that could come in and upgrade the line.

And CBS Sports' Emory Hunt, in his latest mock draft, has Alabama's Tyler Booker coming to The Star.

"I don't go for the running back here for Dallas," Hunt said. "Instead, I went with the best guard in the class in Booker, who will help step into the massive hole left by the now-retired and future Pro Football Hall of Famer Zack Martin."

A physical specimen, Booker is a bruising downhill blocker with the physical traits Brian Schottenheimer and his coaching staff will love in the run game.

His 6'5’’, 321 lb frame is one that he accompanies with good football intelligence and technique, so working alongside Cooper Beebe and Terence Steele could be a great addition at right guard.

Yes, the Cowboys have other urgent needs, but don't be totally surprised that Dallas beefs up its offensive line in the first round, given Schottenheimer's expected run-heavy offense.

A move for Booker won't win any plaudits from fans and media alike, but it might be a shrewd investment to bolster an offensive line that Dak Prescott was getting sacked for fun behind last year.
