Cowboys Sign Another Massive Lineman With Starter Resume

FRISCO - Let the Dallas Cowboys offensive line competition ...

Continue.

The Cowboys already employ TJ Bass and Brock Hoffman, both fighters who have roster spots and want to to start.

That can still happen.

At the same time, the Cowboys have been very focused in their effort to add veteran reinforcements with starting resumes across the offensive line.

Robert Jones, 26, from Miami is here. He's started 30 of his 49 NFL games.

Saahdiq Charles, at 25 and out of retirement, is here. He's started 18 of his 35 NFL games.

And on Thursday comes news from multiple reports that the Cowboys are at it again.

Hakeem Adeniji, 27, is coming aboard, too. And yes ... he's started 15 of his 43 NFL games.

All three of these guys are in their 20's and are large.

Jones is 6-4, 320.

Charles is 6-4, 320.

Adeniji is 6-4, 315.

As our Landon Holifield writes: "These are guys that embody the physicality that the new offensive staff is leaning into — physical, experienced, and violent in the run game. It's a power approach and all of these new guys and potential draft adds are clues into their "type."

By the way, Adeniji is also a DFW guy, like many of the Cowboys' signings this year as he hails from Garland.

None of this is an indictment of or an insult to Hoffman and Bass. But what are the Cowboys doing here?

They’re creating real competition at right guard, following the vision of new coach Brian Schottenheimer's pledge to lean on "physicality.''

Bass and Hoffman still have a shot. But they also have competition.
