Cowboys Trade for Breece Hall Rumor Addressed Bluntly By GM

FRISCO - It is another one of those Dallas Cowboys rumors that just won't go away ...

Now, no matter how hard the the New York Jets' new GM tries.

When the Jets first drafted Breece Hall early in the second round of the 2022 draft, the regime believed he could be the kind of feature back that they had been searching for over the last few years.

That regime is no longer there.

So does that mean Hall is not long for the Big Apple, too.

Rumors linking Hall to Dallas have been around all offseason.

The Cowboys signed veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders but they do remain in the market for another addition.

Conventional logic? They want to do that in this ongoing NFL Draft.

And what are the Jets saying about all of this?

Speaking to reporters after night one of the 2025 draft, Jets first-year general manager Darren Mougey made it clear that the team was not looking into any trade conversations for the veteran.

“I haven’t had any talks with any teams about Breece Hall. He’s on the team,” Mougey said

Mougey’s public comments differ from what reports around the league have said regarding Hall. Senior NFL insider Josina Anderson was one of the reporters who stated that the team had shopped Hall around in trade talks over the last few weeks.

Hall has seen his per-carry average decrease every year since his rookie season. While he finished fourth in the league in total yards from scrimmage during the 2023 season, he struggled mightily last year.

Hall is entering the final year of his rookie deal with the Jets. There's a good chance his future with the team will be clouded ... whether during the draft, or later in the season.

But coming off a down year, Hall's value is as low as it has ever been. That might be good for Dallas (depending how this draft goes?) ... but it makes little sense for the Jets to give the player away.
