The Dallas Cowboys played their first season back in 1960 and since then have appeared in eight Super Bowls, while having won five of them.
Of course, considering their rich history of winning, it's not much of a surprise that the organization has seen a number of amazing players start and spend much of their career with them.
On Tuesday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport revealed that 14-year veteran and offensive tackle Tyron Smith would be signing a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Cowboys.
Quickly after the news broke, quarterback Dak Prescott took to Instagram to send Smith a final message, saying, "I always got your Back as you had Mine! Enjoy Retirement!! Grrrrr @tyronsmith77."

Of course, Smith spent 13 years with the Cowboys after they selected him in the first round with the No. 9 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
In that time, he appeared in 161 games, while picking up some impressive personal accolades, including eight Pro Bowl selections, two First-Team All-Pros and two Second-Team All-Pros.
Smith was also a big piece of what helped Prescott have such a successful rookie season in 2016, earning a Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade of 86.5, which was the 12th best among offensive tackles.
Now, it will remain to be seen if his career is worthy of making it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with Eric Edholm of NFL.com calling Smith a "lock" to eventually be enshrined in Canton back in 2022.
Even if not, though, there's no doubt that Smith will have been satisfied with his time in the NFL, which is highlighted by a very impressive $128.3 million in career earnings, per Spotrac.
