Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Reveals Massive Injury Update

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is focused on his recovery from hamstring surgery to be fully ready for the team’s 2025 NFL season opener. Despite not setting a specific timeline for his return, Prescott expressed confidence about his progress and readiness.

“I’m not gonna put a timeline on it, but I’ll be ready for the first game and when anything matters and very, very ready,” Prescott said, according to the team’s official website. “I’m feeling good. I’m doing more and more. The last two weeks have been huge and progressive for me.”

Prescott’s optimism comes after a challenging 2024 season. He started the first eight games before sustaining a partially torn hamstring against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9, which required season-ending surgery. Before his injury, Prescott averaged 247.3 passing yards per game with 11 touchdowns against eight interceptions.

The veteran quarterback’s absence was deeply felt as the Cowboys struggled to find form. They ultimately finished the season with a 7-10 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

The 2025 season brings new hope under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who took over from Mike McCarthy on January 24. Schottenheimer, the team’s former offensive coordinator, is expected to rejuvenate the team’s strategy and harness Prescott’s capabilities reminiscent of his 2023 performance, where he threw for 4,516 yards and led the league with 36 touchdown passes.

Prescott noted that while he is not yet running at full speed, his recovery is on track. “I wouldn’t say I’m running full speed yet,” he admitted. “But everything’s on the right track, and I’m excited.”
