The Minnesota Vikings are currently wrestling with a tough decision. Do they bring in Aaron Rodgers for a year or two or not?
J.J. McCarthy is currently the best quarterback on the roster. After drafting him with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, it's clear that he's the long-term guy for the Vikings. However, an injury ended his rookie season before it began and he missed out on quality time to develop.
Does Minnesota actually believe he's capable of starting and leading the team to Super Bowl contention in 2025?
That is the question the team has to be asking itself.
Rodgers is still good enough to power an offense. He showed that last season with the New York Jets when he completed 63% of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while playing in all 17 games just a year removed from tearing his Achilles.
It's a tough question to answer, but ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky has provided a warning to the Vikings.
During an appearance on "Up & Adams," Orlovsky boldly stated that he wouldn't sign Rodgers if he were running things in Minnesota.
“If I were Minnesota, I would not do that. That’s nothing negative against Aaron," Orlovsky said.

His reasoning is firmly rooted in the idea that moving on from Sam Darnold signaled the Vikings wanted to move to the future with McCarthy.
Signing Rodgers would delay that process by at least one season. It would also keep McCarthy off the field completely.
While Minnesota ponders the decision, the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers continue waiting, as they too are interested in signing Rodgers.
