The Indianapolis Colts may have dodged a bullet with the latest injury update on star running back Jonathan Taylor.

Taylor suffered a nasty-looking ankle injury late in his team’s Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. He left the game midway through the fourth quarter and did not return.

Taylor was later diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. But according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it’s a “pretty mild version” of what can sometimes be a multi-week injury.

“I’m feeling pretty good,” Taylor told ESPN’s Stephen Holder after the game. “We came out with the win, so I’m excited to attack this week because this is going to be another tough one.”

Taylor played a vital role in the Colts’ 27-24 win over the previously undefeated Steelers. The former All-Pro rushed for 88 yards on 21 carries and set the tone with the game’s opening touchdown.

The update on Taylor is welcome news for Colts fans, especially since quarterback Anthony Richardson also left Sunday’s game with an injury.
