Dolphins' Chris Grier Makes Zach Wilson Announcement

The Miami Dolphins were criticized for their decision to sign Zach Wilson in free agency. The former Denver Broncos and New York Jets quarterback hasn't been great during his professional career, despite being selected with the second overall pick by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft.

However, there was once a time when Wilson was believed to be an above-average NFL quarterback, and if he can show that his prospect days aren't too far behind him, the Dolphins might’ve found something here.

That's why Chris Grier had the comments he did about the BYU product recently.

“Zach has won a few games. I know everyone is going to say his record and stuff, but I think for us in dealing with it and getting to know him, talking once he signed and getting to know him and going through it and going back to the relationships people had with him prior to the draft when he came out — we just felt that in talking to him and some veterans, that he was the right fit and right choice for us because we do think that his skill set really fits what our offense does,” he said, according to the New York Post.

It's unfortunate to say, but the Dolphins are likely going to deal with an injury to Tua Tagovailoa at some point in the season.

The Hawaii native has been decent for the Dolphins, but his injuries have been a concern. If the Dolphins have to hand the football over to Wilson, they'll have to hope that he shows some signs.

In his career, he's thrown for 6,293 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions.
