Eagles coach tests positive for COVID-19?

The Philadelphia Eagles have a positive COVID-19 case for the second straight week.

ESPN's Tim McManus is reporting that an unnamed Eagles coach tested positive for the virus. In an official statement, the club explained that all close contacts have been placed in isolation.

Philadelphia safety Marcus Epps tested positive for the coronavirus last week while the Eagles were on their bye. Per McManus, Epps attended practices and meetings that were held on Wednesday. Team meetings for this week will be virtual, and Sunday's scheduled divisional game against the New York Giants remains on as of Tuesday evening.

Per updated NFL health and safety protocols, any personnel deemed "high-risk close contacts" of an infected person must isolate for a minimum of five days, starting with the day after the contact, and provide daily negative test results before being welcomed back to any official NFL activities.

Earlier in the day, the NFL and NFL Players Association reported 15 new positive COVID-19 tests among players and 41 new positives among other personnel from Nov. 1-7. Also, NFL owners approved expanding the playoff field to 16 teams but only if games are canceled because of coronavirus-related issues over the next seven weeks.

It's believed the NFL does not wish to hold any regular-season games past Week 17 on Jan. 3.
