ESPN Analyst Boldly Claims Chiefs Have 'Failed' Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes have had a lot of success together. Since they drafted him with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft, Mahomes has won three Super Bowls and has won two regular season MVP awards.

On the outside looking in, the two sides have seemingly taken care of the other at an elite level.

Despite the success that they have had together, one ESPN analyst has now boldly claimed that the Chiefs have "failed" Mahomes.

That analyst was none other than former NFL player Domonique Foxworth, who made his feelings clear on the matter during a segment on "First Take."

Foxworth believes that Kansas City has failed to put the right talent around Mahomes over the years.

"Yes, I watched the Super Bowl. That man [Patrick Mahomes] looked like a victim to me," Foxworth said. "It is like the Bears; it is obvious what they had to address. The Bears went and did it. The Chiefs lost their best offensive lineman. Their guard, who was also their best tackle, left. And the way that they answered it was by getting a back up tackle from the 49ers to be the best quarterback in the league blindside protection."

He continued on, making the bold statement about the Chiefs "failing" Mahomes.

"It does feel like they have failed him. They tried to fix this position through the draft in the past, they tried to sign right tackles to make them left tackles, and now they are trying to sign a backup tackle to make him a starter. I do not know how we argue that there was one big thing they had to solve this year with their offensive line; they have not solved it yet."

Jaylon Moore is the "backup tackle" that Foxworth is referring to. He was signed to a two-year, $30 million deal shortly after NFL free agency opened.

While Foxworth is free to have his own opinion, Kansas City deserves credit. The Chiefs have given Mahomes enough talent to win three Super Bowls and make it to the big game five times.
