The Seattle Seahawks released a former Denver Broncos defensive end and third-round draft pick on Tuesday.

Dre'Mont Jones, who played for the Broncos from 2019 to 2022, will need to find a new home after his release. Jones spent the past two seasons with the Seahawks where he had 8.5 sacks, 77 tackles, and 25 quarterback hits in 23 starts during that span.

A former Ohio State standout, Jones had success with the Broncos in 56 career games and 29 starts amid 22 sacks, 133 tackles, 38 quarterback hits and six pass deflections. Jones had a three-year, $51.53 million deal with the Seahawks after he left Denver via free agency in 2023.

Whether or not the Broncos would have a reunion with Jones remains unknown ahead of free agency. Jones had a four-year, $4.15 million rookie deal with the Broncos before he left for the Seahawks two years ago.

Depth couldn't hurt though as the Broncos seek to improve the defense after a stellar 2024 season. Adding Jones could give the defensive front a boost with another player who could build on the team's 63 sacks last year.

Denver has $41.52 million in salary cap space to work with, but defensive end depth isn't one of the major priorities.
