A former Michigan Wolverines assistant coach is facing a host of federal charges stemming from alleged criminal behavior while he was employed by the school.
Matt Weiss, a former co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Wolverines, was charged with 14 counts of unauthorized access to computers and 10 counts of aggravated identity theft on Thursday. The federal indictment accuses Weiss of gaining unauthorized access to the accounts of student athletes and downloading intimate photographs and videos.
Weiss allegedly accessed the student athlete databases of over 100 colleges and universities. Upon gaining access, Weiss is accused of accessing the personal data of over 150,000 student athletes and using that information to gain access to their personal social media, email, and cloud storage accounts.
Weiss then “downloaded personal, intimate digital photographs and videos that were never intended to be shared beyond intimate partners.”

The indictment alleges that Weiss began accessing this personal information as early as 2015, when he was a member of the Baltimore Ravens’ coaching staff. It continued until January 2023, when Weiss was placed on leave and ultimately fired over what at the time were labeled “computer access crimes” that were committed at the team’s football facility.
Weiss joined the Ravens as an assistant coach in 2009. He remained with the organization until 2020 and worked in various roles, including as running backs coach in 2019 when the team broke the NFL record for team rushing yards in a season. He joined Michigan’s staff in 2021, initially as quarterbacks coach and later as co-offensive coordinator.

HC Sean McVay responds to Cooper Kupp's comments about Rams exit
Current Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp raised eyebrows when he said that he didn’t have "a ton of clarity" from the Los Angeles Rams regarding why the team released him in March. While speaking with reporters at the NFL owners meetings on Tuesday, Rams head coach Sean McVay responded to Kupp's comments. "I think we do (feel we provided clarity)," McVay said, as shared by Jourdan Rodrigue and Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. "Here’s the thing…there’s an element of, there was clarity (about) 'this is the direction that we’re gonna go.' Now, to be able to provide all the context — we didn’t have all of the context that was applicable in regards to...what did we really envision that receiver room (looking like)? We thought Davante Adams would be a possibility." Analysts and reporters praised the Rams for essentially replacing Kupp with Adams. Adams tallied 85 total receptions, 1,063 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns playing for the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets this past season. Meanwhile, injuries limited Kupp to 33 regular-season games over the past three campaigns. "I think the most important thing was when we had made the decision that we were gonna seek a trade or at least grant him his release, that was very quickly after the season, which I thought he deserved that clarity in regard to the direction we were going," McVay continued. "Now, exactly why all those things occurred, there had to be a little bit of time to be able to provide the appropriate context. That wasn’t applicable in the moment." Kupp made it known in February that he didn't "agree" with the Rams' decision to try to trade him before his release. He had played only for Los Angeles from when the club made him a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft through the 2024 season, and he was named the Super Bowl LVI Most Valuable Player for his efforts in helping the Rams earn a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in February 2022. Kupp ultimately signed a three-year, $45M deal with the Seahawks a few days after his release from the Rams. "It doesn’t change the legacy, all the great things (and) more importantly, the great person that he is," McVay added. "But we do have a responsibility to the collective, and it was what we felt like was the best decision for our football team moving forward. Not easy. But that’s what our responsibility is."

Before its release, the game boasted a long list of wrestlers, past and present, for players to enter into the ring with. The next wave of playable characters is reportedly on its way, and it includes some famous celebrities. According to a recent leak, famous YouTubers and NBA stars will soon be playable in the game. WWE 2K25 Leak Points To Celebrity Characters WWE 2K25 has already announced plans for five DLC packages. Part of the fun of any wrestling event is that you never know who is going to show up. Celebrities, athletes, and YouTubers have entered the ring often in the past few years, and the game is following suit. X user WittyWitterson, who is known for leaking game information, revealed the reported plans for the first three DLC packages. Here are the three waves according to the leaker. KSI is the biggest YouTube personality. He made a surprise appearance during Wrestlemania 39, helping Logan Paul in his match against Seth Rollins. Travis Scott is another name that many wrestling fans are talking about. He appeared alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the match where John Cena shockingly turned heel. For basketball fans, three NBA stars will reportedly be joining the WWE 2K25 roster. New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton are currently some of the best players in the league. Shaquille O’Neal was dominant in his playing days but has now become a popular media personality. All three of these players have made appearances in events before. Final Thoughts Nothing is set in stone until WWE 2K25 officially confirms anything. However, the leaker is corroborating an earlier leak that teased the same characters being added. What we do know is May 14th in when the first DLC pack will be released. Fans of the game will eagerly await the official announcements so they know what crazy events they can make in the game. The company wants the most realistic experience ever, and the addition of more celebrities is making that dream a reality.

It has been a great start to the campaign for the New York Yankees, who will be seeking another trip back to the World Series this year. Coming into the season, the Yankees had some serious question marks regarding their lineup. The loss of Juan Soto in free agency was significant, considering a player of that caliber can't be replaced that easily. This winter, the Yankees focused on creating balance on their team. With the money saved by not being able to re-sign their star slugger, they brought in Max Fried, Devin Williams, Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt. All of these signings and trades filled needs. However, they shockingly left third base as a major question mark going into the season. Last year, it was Jazz Chisholm at the hot corner after the trade deadline. However, with Gleyber Torres leaving in free agency, he slid back over to his natural position of second base. Despite the offense performing well early on, the hot corner is still a major issue for the team. However, it doesn’t appear that they will be doing anything in the immediate future to fix that. Furthermore, the Yankees could elect to wait until the winter, and a former MLB executive believes they might make a massive splash. Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently predicted the Yankees would address their issues at third base in a significant manner this winter by signing Toronto Blue Jays slugger Bo Bichette to a massive contract. “Bo Bichette signs a five-year, $147 million deal to play third base for the Yankees.” If the 27-year-old is all right with switching positions, this could be a great addition on paper for New York. Even though Bichette had a down year in 2024, that appears to have been injury-related considering the success he’s had in the past. Furthermore, he is also off to a hot start to the season for the Blue Jays. Currently, the slugger has slashed .368/.455/.474 through five games. Since he will be just 28 years old at the start of the next campaign, the Yankees will be getting a player just hitting his prime. This season will dictate a lot about what next winter looks like for Bichette in terms of value and potential interest, but if the two-time All-Star bounces back from a poor year in 2024, he could be highly sought-after.
Grizzlies’ Zach Edey gets stamp of approval from Tuomas Iisalo after Taylor Jenkins slight
The Memphis Grizzlies needed a refresh after falling down the Western Conference standings in their own wayward version of March Madness. Now Ja Morant and Desmond Bane are balancing the ball-handling duties more equitably of late, leaving Jaren Jackson Jr. to do what the Defensive Player of the Year does best. Tuomas Iisalo, who took over the reins after former coach Taylor Jenkins was let go, didn’t mince words when discussing Zach Edey’s impact either. The rookie big man, often underutilized or overlooked during Jenkins’ tenure, has emerged as a key piece for a Grizzlies team navigating injuries and a midseason coaching change. “(Zach Edey) has actually been a stabilizing force for us here, and it comes at the exact right time with Brandon Clarke out with the injury,” Iisalo said. “He has proven throughout the season that he is very eager to learn new things. He listens, he is very tough, and doesn’t shy away from contact. This is not the first time this season, but it’s great to see him play like this against this caliber of team. We are going to need that going forward.” Edey has faced scrutiny for his transition to the pro game, with critics questioning his mobility and fit in a fast-paced league. Under Taylor Jenkins, his minutes fluctuated, and his role often seemed undefined. But Tuomas Iisalo thinks the Purdue alum is ready to anchor the Grizzlies against the league’s elite. Against Stephen Curry’s “sight to behold” Golden State Warriors (44-31), Zach Edey logged a double-double with 10 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks battling in the paint against a Warriors squad known for its relentless pace. His physicality and willingness to mix it up inside drew nods of approval from teammates and staff alike. “For Zach, the hard part is obvious, but now you know this is the baseline,” Iisalo noted. “This is what we will need in order to compete with the best teams. But everybody in the locker room and on the staff believes that he can take big strides forward. That is what he is doing.” Next up is a battle with Bam Adebayo’s Miami Heat (35-41). Eric Spoelstra will surely have a few schemes cooked up to fool the rookie. Then it’s off to the Motor City to see Jalen Duren’s Detroit Pistons (42-33). A rematch against Mark Williams and the Charlotte Hornets (19-57) wraps up a crucial three-game road trip. Coming home to see Rudy Gobert’s Minnesota Timberwolves (44-32) will be no picnic. The last road trip of the season is a one-game jaunt up the mountains to see NBA MVP Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets (47-29). A home finale against the Dallas Mavericks (37-39) might bring a reprieve of sorts for the Grizzlies (44-32), but only if Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II sit out. Either way, the 7-foot-4 phenom will have to be on his toes to inch past the regular season finish line fully confident in his postseason abilities. One thing seems clear after three games though: Zach Edey is no longer an afterthought in the game plan.
