The Atlanta Falcons have been busy holding onto offensive linemen since the NFL Free Agency period started.
Having already brought back Elijah Wilkinson and Kyle Hinton, the Falcons re-signed veteran offensive tackle Storm Norton on Thursday. Norton has spent the last two seasons in Atlanta and started four games. The length of the deal is reportedly a two-year contract.
Norton entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo. In that time, he has appeared in 67 games, starting 22 of them. Early on, Norton would spend three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Outside of the well-known defensive woes, Atlanta has been trying to add depth to the offensive line, having recently lost Drew Dalman at the center position. His spot has been secured with the re-signing of backup Ryan Neuzil.
Norton's deal was first reported by his agency, JL Sports, on Twitter (X). In the coming days, Atlanta will try to bolster the protection for quarterback Michael Penix Jr. by staying in-house on most of that side of the football. Longtime Falcon Jake Matthews has recently re-signed with the Falcons as well.
For Norton, the Falcons have felt comfortable with him filling in the gaps when Kaleb McGary has been out or injured. He offers several overall traits that the Falcons can depend on for the foreseeable future. At 30 years of age, and some quality starts under his belt, he looks to be a vital asset for what the Falcons are trying to do depth wise on the offensive line for 2025.
