Insider Reveals Buccaneers Brutal Playoff Chances in 2025
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently riding two impressive streaks with regard to the NFL playoffs. They've won four straight NFC South divisional titles and made the postseason five consecutive years.

The first of those five appearances resulted in the franchise's second Super Bowl title and featured Tom Brady under center.

Now, many will say that's due to the fact that the Bucs play in the worst division in football. And that's partly true. But keep in mind each division title results in a first-place schedule the following season. So outside of your so-called "creampuff" divisional games, Tampa Bay has played tough schedules.

How will the Bucs fare next season after turning over their third offensive coordinator in as many seasons? Zoltàn Buday with Pro Football Focus thinks the Bucs will have a hard time returning to the postseason again.

"Beyond coaching changes, Tampa Bay must also address its wide receiver situation. Chris Godwin is expected to hit free agency, while Mike Evans will turn 32 this summer, creating uncertainty at a key position," wrote Buday. "If Mayfield can replicate his 2024 performance, the Buccaneers have a strong chance to win the NFC South again.

"However, the Falcons and Panthers could provide a tougher challenge than in recent years."

The Bucs have yet to name a new offensive coordinator after Liam Coen jilted Tampa Bay and took the head coaching job in Jacksonville.

And there are questions about head coach Todd Bowles' defense and his ability to manage games that could greatly limit the future success of the Bucs.

But the roster is talented and the outlook in free agency and next month's NFL Draft is high for the team.
