As the NFL world waits for Aaron Rodgers to decide where he's going to play next, a new update has shed light on what is taking so long for the future Hall of Famer to make his choice.
Over the last few days, the race for Rodgers seems to have come down three teams.
Those three teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are the perceived front-runners for now, the New York Giants, and potentially the Minnesota Vikings.
According to a report from NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Vikings are the reason that Rodgers is taking his time.
Russini reported on Friday that Rodgers is waiting to hear back from Minnesota about whether or not it is interested in signing him.
"Here’s what you need to know," Russini wrote on X. "The Vikings are having discussions about what they want to do at quarterback and if they want Rodgers. Rodgers is giving them time and waiting to hear from Minnesota. The Vikings have yet to make a decision. We all wait."

This report could insinuate that Rodgers' preferred destination is the Vikings. If he wanted the Steelers over Minnesota, he could go ahead and make his decision.
Recently, former teammate and Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre advised Rodgers to consider the Vikings.
"By all means sign with the Vikings, they’re loaded at pretty much every position," Favre said.
Joining Minnesota would give Rodgers the opportunity to play with Justin Jefferson. He would also be throwing to Jordan Addison and would reunite with Aaron Jones, who was a good friend and teammate with the Green Bay Packers.
There is no current timetable for when Rodgers will make his decision. Everything seems to hinge on what the Vikings choose to do.
