Ever since Myles Garrett's trade request from the Cleveland Browns, the Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the most talked about potential trade destinations.

While the move would make a ton of sense for the Eagles, it wouldn't come cheap. Garrett is going to be a very coveted player on the trade market and the Browns are going to look hard to find the best deal possible.

Clearly, a trade to Philadelphia would be among the best fits for Garrett. He has been very clear about wanting to compete for a Super Bowl, but is it a likely scenario?

NFL insider Ian Rapoport spoke out recently on "Good Morning Football" and offered his opinion on the matter.

"Even though they cleared some cap space yesterday, here’s what I want to point out: if the Eagles were going to take on a huge contract for Myles Garrett, and if he gets traded anywhere, he’s going to be the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL, no doubt about it," Rapoport said. "In order to take on that contract, they would have to get rid of other very big contracts of their own. Even the Eagles can’t just fit everybody they want."

Rapoport didn't stop there. He dropped one final comment that casts major doubt on the Eagles being a legitimate trade suitor for Garrett.

"I would be very surprised if this happened. It is a great rumor, it’s a great rumor. But I’d be very surprised if this happened," he stated.

That being said, Garrett is the kind of player that teams might be willing to move mountains to acquire. He is coming off of yet another monstrous season with the Browns.

In 2024, Garrett played in all 17 games despite dealing with multiple different injury issues. He ended up recording 47 total tackles, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a defended pass.

Even though Rapoport isn't expecting a Garrett to Philadelphia trade, the Eagles cannot be counted out. They're worth monitoring as this situation unfolds.
