The Jacksonville Jaguars have a chance to reset the roster in the 2025 NFL Draft under GM James Gladstone in his first draft with HC Liam Coen. With a new regime and plenty of draft picks to add players, this will be the stepping stone towards the future of the Jags with Trevor Lawrence as the franchise quarterback. With 10 draft picks and plenty of needs on both sides of the ball, this should be an interesting first draft for Gladstone and Co.

Team Needs

The 4-13 Jacksonville Jaguars underachieved massively under Trent Baalke and Doug Pederson in 2024. After nailing the Brian Thomas Jr. pick in last year’s draft, they are looking to repeat that same success. Whether it is a skill-position or on the defense, either would help the Jags. There are pretty heavy rumblings about Travis Etienne Jr. being traded, as he had a down year last season.

The offensive line, especially protecting T-Law, should be the next priority, or at least at defensive tackle. The secondary, linebacking core also needs reinforcements and upgrades at the starting positions. Wide receiver and tight end need an overhaul, as Evan Engram was released (signed with Denver Broncos), and the Jaguars traded Christian Kirk to the Houston Texans in the division.

7- Round Mock Draft

    • Round 1: No. 5- Ashton Jeanty (RB) Boise State
    • Round 2: No. 36- Josh Conerly Jr. (OT) Oregon

    • Round: No. 88- Omarr Norman-Lott (DT) Tennessee
    • Round 4: No. 107- Caleb Ransaw (CB) Tulane
    • Round 4: No. 126- Jonas Sanker (S) Virginia
    • Round 5: No. 142- Isaac TeSlaa (WR) Arkansas
    • Round 6: No. 182- Jake Majors (C) Texas
    • Round 6: No. 194- Teddye Buchanan (LB) California
    • Round 7: No. 221- Willie Lampkin (OG) North Carolina

Mock Draft Analysis

Although I think defensive tackle Mason Graham and receiver Tetairoa McMillan make sense in their own right, the growing buzz has been at running back with Ashton Jeanty. While this isn’t what I would do, he is a difference maker and would make the trio of Lawrence, Thomas, and Jeanty formidable. That is only if the offensive line and defense don’t hold Coen and the offense back.

The Jaguars do need a receiver, and even though it could’ve been addressed earlier, I settled for improving at tackle with Josh Conerly Jr. before improving at tight end, taking Harold Fannin Jr. He is a pass-catching type of tight end like an Engram that can lineup out wide, while Brenton Strange can still be involved. Both can be utilized by Lawrence and Coen in this new offensive passing attack.

Final Thoughts on the Jacksonville Jaguars

This is just year one with the Gladstone, Coen, and Lawrence pairing, so I wouldn’t expect massive strides in 2025. If anything, potentially making a wildcard would be a positive outcome for the Jaguars, as the main thing is seeing Lawrence grow with a better offensive scheme. This draft would make this offense way more potent than any other season with T-Law under center, and he has to prove he’s the guy with more weapons around him now that he is paid in Jacksonville.

While the defense has multiple needs, potentially more than the offense, that side of the ball won’t get overhauled in one draft. The Jags still have a good enough pass rush with Josh Allen and have a few other young impact players like Tyson Campbell, Travon Walker, and Devin Lloyd. Veteran Foyesade Oluokun and Darnell Savage will have to rebound after a down season. The latter part of this draft was more of getting young backups at positions of need to develop for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
