Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered an injury during his team’s game against the Carolina Panthers at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md., on Sunday.
Daniels went to the locker room midway through the first quarter after trainers examined his midsection on the sideline. The Commanders then announced that he had a rib injury and was questionable to return. CBS reported that Daniels underwent X-rays.

It looked like Daniels suffered the injury on Washington’s first play from scrimmage. The rookie ripped off a huge run, but was tackled from behind and landed awkwardly. Daniels was holding his midsection as he got to his feet.

Daniels was replaced by veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Daniels has gotten his NFL career off to an outstanding start. The former LSU star entered Sunday’s game with 1,404 passing yards, 322 rushing yards and 10 total touchdowns. He has already drawn comparisons to one of the NFL’s best players, though Daniels had a great response to that talk.
