The New York Jets will enter the NFL Draft with clear roster needs and, holding the No. 7 pick, will be able to add a star player early.
But exactly which position the Jets should target has garnered mixed answers for Aaron Glenn's team.
Another weapon for Justin Fields to help ease the pressure on Garrett Wilson in the form of Tyler Warren, or a right tackle to help shore up the offensive line, are the two positions most think New York will target.
And one national writer thinks so, too.
"The two names that come up most here are Membou, who’d fill a black hole at right tackle after Morgan Moses’s departure, and Penn State TE Tyler Warren, who’d give the team a complement to Wilson and fill another gaping hole," the reporter says. "That said, the Jets go into this draft with a pretty talented young core that should make it so they don’t have to reach for needs too often—especially with the likelihood that Membou and/or Warren are there for them at No. 7."
Taking Membou in the first round is a solid bet, as it would give Fields two young bookends in Olu Fashanu and then Membou for the next decade.
But in doing that, Fields' weaponry would take a hit, as getting a receiver or tight end capable of stepping up from Day 1 in the second round might be a little tough to accomplish.
Either way, the Jets' draft choice will tell us a lot about how Tanner Engstrand's offense will operate in 2025.
