New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson wasn't exactly thrilled with how things played out last season, with the star often frustrated with how things were going under Aaron Rodgers.
SNY's Connor Hughes stated that Wilson clashed with some of the coaching staff and that there was tension with the organization. He and Rodgers weren't on the same page about the constant losing, which didn't sit well with Wilson.
While the star didn't request a trade, Hughes says there was a feeling that if it continued, it would have been "inevitable."
Now, under a different regime headlined by Aaron Glenn, how does the new head coach feel about Wilson's frustrations last year?
"I wasn't here last year, so I don't care," Glenn said. "I know me and him right now have had a lot of good conversations, that's all I care about. He's in a good place. I don't care what happened last year."
That is a positive update for Jets fans, as last year, there was a feeling it was only a matter of time before the star receiver was moved on.
Now, with Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey at the helm, Wilson's attitude appears to have changed and now is in a "good place" with the franchise.
Currently, Justin Fields' only true weapon on offense, getting Wilson some help, will be a high priority for the Jets' front office over the coming months. Despite how good Wilson is, he can't do it all himself.
But more than that, Wilson is now in a good spot with the Jets after it looked rather shaky just a few months ago.
Glenn has a lot to do in order to turn this troubled ship around, and keeping your star receiver happy is a great first step.
