Kylie Kelce Makes Opinion Of NFL 'WAGs' Extremely Clear

Kylie Kelce doesn't want to be known merely as "Jason Kelce's wife."

The Kelce family has skyrocketed to mainstream recognition. That includes Kylie, whose Not Gonna Lie podcast briefly climbed to the No. 1 spot on Spotify's charts after premiering in December.

During a recent interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kylie discussed the term "WAG" used for the wives and girlfriends of athletes. The 32-year-old would reasonably prefer not to have her identity reduced to her partner's career.

"I don't like it because I think it has a serious negative connotation attached," Kylie said. "I think it's this suggestion that your spouse's profession swallows you up as well."

She explained that football never dominated household conversations during the former Philadelphia Eagles center's playing career. Kylie compared it to an accountant not talking excessively about the spreadsheets they make at work.

"Both Jason and I have made a serious effort to make sure that while he was playing, that it was clear that that was his job," Kylie said.

Host Alex Cooper agreed that calling someone a "WAG" undermines women living their "own independent lives." It implies they're just leaching off their partner's fortune and fame.

Kylie concurred that the "vast majority" of women don't align with those lazy stereotypes.

"It's so funny to me because it's like, it is that stigma of, you're with them because they make a lot of money or you want designer bags or ... you live in a mansion," Kylie said.  It's like, no. There have been a number of people who come to our house and are like, 'Oh.' I'm like ... yeah. That's what you get."

Kylie, who is expecting her fourth girl later this year, is excited to keep hosting Not Gonna Lie while HABs (husband and boyfriends) Jason and Travis Kelce do their own thing.

"I am really enjoying what we currently have going on," she said. "I love getting to talk to incredible women. I love that we're having conversations that I think people want to hear, or people are getting to learn with me. We'll see where that goes."
