Kyren Williams enters his fourth season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2025, the final year of his fourth-year rookie contract worth $3.97 million. After playing three seasons for the University of Notre Dame, he entered the NFL Draft, where the Rams drafted him in the fifth round. In his three seasons in the league thus far, Williams has amassed 2,153 rushing yards with 27 touchdowns, along with 675 yards and four touchdowns receiving.

Last season, Kyren Williams was a top 10 running back in all formats. Williams is a reliable lead back for the Rams and is known as a TD magnet, consistently able to rack up points through his scoring propensity. This should continue while he remains a member of the Rams, and his ability to gain yards receiving as well adds slightly to his value, although some running backs outclass him in that category.

Entering a contract year, can we expect a career season for Kyren Williams?

Kyren Williams 2024 Stats and Fantasy Production

Kyren Williams played in 16 games last season with the Rams. Williams rushed 316 times for 1,299 yards while recording 14 touchdowns. He also hauled in 34 of his 40 passing targets, collecting another 182 yards and two more touchdowns. He also accumulated no passing yards. He was used as a returner twice, but did not accumulate any fantasy stats when doing so.

In 2024, Kyren Williams was a solid RB1 for most fantasy teams. Using Fantasy Pros scoring, Williams was worth 14.9 points per game for a total of 238.1 points cumulatively. In PPR leagues, those numbers bumped up to 17 points per game for a total of 272.1 points cumulatively.

He managed to stay fully healthy for the season and was the clear lead back for the Rams. Blake Corum did see some opportunities in the Rams’ offense, but due to maintaining his health, Williams still set a career high in yards and touchdowns.

Kyren Williams enters 2025 healthy and motivated for a big season. Entering a contract year, Williams will look to show teams he is worth a top-end RB price tag. While he has been the lead back, Blake Corum got a few opportunities as a rookie.

Williams still posted the better numbers, however, if the Rams are looking to move on from him and not pay the pricetag, they could choose to give added looks to Corum to see what they have on the roster. If this is the case, Williams may see a decrease in usage and opportunities.

According to Fantasy Pros, Williams is projected as the 22nd overall pick in PPR leagues, 10th among running backs. In PPR leagues, he slips to 38 overall, 13th among running backs. Half PPR leagues put him closer to standard, at 23rd overall, 11th among running backs.

Entering 2025, I expect Kyren to have a big year. While Corum will get some opportunities, the Rams have hopes of a deep playoff run, and Williams gives them the best opportunity to do so.

Williams should be able to gather 1400-1500 total yards from scrimmage (rush and pass), 20-30 receptions, and 16-18 touchdowns. He is projected to get drafted in the second or third round, depending on formats. For the 2025 season, this feels like a good placement, even with his future up in the air. The key will be whether he stays healthy for a second season in a row.

Kyren Williams Dynasty Outlook

Kyren Williams will be entering his age-25 season this year, which means he should have a few good years left in his prime. However, Williams has a lot of red flags that could impact his value in dynasty formats over the long term. He has an injury history, and while he is coming off a healthy year, he has not yet established that he can stay healthy over multiple seasons. He remains an easy Top 10 RB in all scoring leagues, assuming health, in the short term, but the long term is harder to predict.

The bigger question mark for Williams, though, is his contract status. He is only under contract with the Rams until the end of 2025, and after that, he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Williams is capable of succeeding behind most offensive lines, but his real strength is his ability to collect touchdowns. It remains unclear how those opportunities could change on a new team.

The other concern is his position. The truth is, a lot of running backs fade earlier than their counterparts at WR and QB. There are many stories of running backs fading at or before their 30s. Given Williams’ injury history, it is possible he could find himself with long-term lingering effects. Either way, it is hard to invest in a running back in fantasy sports because their shelf life is so short.

Kyren Williams is a solid option to hold on to if he is already owned in your league. He will score points and slot in as a decent RB1 or a high-quality RB2 in the short term. Owners should be reserved of giving up a lot to acquire him if the asking price is high. Having a safety net of Blake Corum or another young RB on the bench would be smart for owners who are looking to hedge their bets for the future.

Final Thoughts

Despite entering his age-25 season, Kyren Williams has an uncertain future in LA that makes his dynasty prospects unclear. For 2025, he is worth drafting and relying on as a top-end RB option, but be cautious of the future. Williams had a career year last year, and assuming he again stays healthy, that pattern should continue. The Rams should once again be in contention, with enough weapons on offense to keep the defense honest, opening opportunities, especially at the goalline. Proceed with caution, but in 2025, Williams is a clear Top 10 RB in all formats.
