Few quarterback-receiver duos are more iconic than what the Kansas City Chiefs have in Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Narrowing that category to quarterbacks and tight ends, no pair stands in comparison.
That in part has to do with the celebrity of the two. Kelce has a significant role in that high-level status given his romantic relationship with pop music icon Taylor Swift.
Mahomes for his part has become a rockstar of the league, leading the team to three Super Bowls in the first half of his career. Both can be found starring in a number of commercials with NFL sponsors year-round as well.
Since this pairing works so well on the field and around the league, Mahomes and Kelce have expanded their ventures past the gridiron. The two are getting involved in the restaurant business with a steakhouse called 1587 Prime as announced in March of last year.
Now, the restaurant has a targeted opening. In partnership with Noble 33, 1587 Prime is set to open this summer, according to PEOPLE Magazine.
"The new restaurant will sit inside the sleek Loews Kansas City Hotel and will feature 'multi-sensory dining aspects' as well as 'subtle nods' to the players themselves," wrote PEOPLE's Emily Rella.
The 10,000 square-foot area will have two floors and several spaces for private dining.
"Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities, so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City," Mahomes said previously in a release.
Kelce and Mahomes are now one step closer for that vision becoming a reality. When the calendar hits the dog days of summer and fans yearn for Chiefs football, there will surely be a number of Kansas City residents lining up to get their first impressions of their beloved stars' restaurant.
