Several notable rumors have swarmed the LA Chargers this offseason due to the team's standing as a conteder alongside an ample amount of resources. While nothing significant has happened, the rumors will continue until the start of the 2025 season.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has found himself in this Chargers rumor mill. The rumors started early in the offseason and after a few quiet weeks, Hill did his part to reignite the trade rumors last week.

At the end of the day, rumors are just rumors until they turn into reports and there is no indication the Chargers will act on these rumors. Even if the Chargers wanted to pursue Hill — which is unlikely — the Dolphins would keep it from happening.

Dolphins GM Chris Grier spoke to reporters on Tuesday and emphatically ended the Tyreek Hill trade rumors once and for all. Grier made it abundantly clear the Dolphins aren't shopping the wideout, and that it would take an extremely unlikely grandfather offer for him to change his mind.

Dolphins GM officially ends Tyreek Hill trade rumors for Chargers

Things can change in an instant in the NFL and GMs are known for going back on their word. However, for the time being, Chargers fans can shelf the idea of Hill donning the powder blue.

Quite frankly, a Hill trade has never made much sense for the Chargers. While he is a big name and the Bolts need a pass-catcher, the fit would have never worked. Hill is coming off the worst year of his career and there is a very good chance he is past his prime.

The Chargers would be paying a premium price (both in draft capital and in Hill's contract) for past performance. Trading one first-round pick for Hill wouldn't even be worth it, let alone two. Heck, trading a second-round pick wouldn't even be worth it.

Situations can change and there is a world in which the Dolphins do end up trading Hill. If Miami gets out to a slow start in 2025 the team could pivot into being sellers, which would undoubtedly put Hill on the market.

But even then, it won't make much sense for the Chargers. The name factor is not worth the cost and the production, let alone the other baggage Hill would bring with him to Los Angeles.

Chargers fans can officially close this chapter of speculation and turn their focus toward the next big-name wideout that will be connected to the team. Hill never made sense, and now, the rumors are finished.
