NFL Insider Adam Schefter Reveals Browns' Quarterback Plans

The 2025 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and the Cleveland Browns have one of the top picks at No. 2. Whenever they are on the clock, there are a couple of different directions they could go.

In a recent report by ESPN's Adam Schefter, he talks about what the Browns' plan going into the draft is, and he feels that Cleveland will not be looking for a quarterback with their top pick.

"The closer the draft has gotten, the more it has seemed like they will not take over the league lead for drafting the most quarterbacks since returning to the NFL in 1999," Schefter reported. "They have drafted five in Round 1, tying Chicago and Washington for the highest total... It feels as if Cleveland will not go quarterback in Round 1 on Thursday, but nobody would be surprised if its next pick turns out to be a passer."

Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Watson has reportedly made good progress in his rehab from an Achilles injury. With that being said, they could use a bit of insurance at the position, and Schefter believes they could wait until Day 2 to do that.

The Browns have the first pick in the second round of the 2025 Draft, and they could wait until that tome to take their quarterback of the future. Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders are two players that could fall to that pick, which would allow the team to make a different pick at No. 2.

The player that many believe Cleveland will take with the second pick is two-way superstar Travis Hunter. If they can get him as well as a young field general, that could be the best-case scenario.
