The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles have all eyes on them with Super Bowl LIX taking place on Sunday in New Orleans.

As such, a lot of buzz has swirled around these two teams as they meet in the Super Bowl again after the Chiefs beat the Eagles, 38-35, in Super Bowl LVII.

On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, who is planning to attend the game, spoke about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes

"As a coach, you start recruiting and working with players years before they get to college. Patrick Mahomes was one of the best players I ever had the opportunity to recruit and get to know," Tuberville said on "The Megyn Kelly Show".

However, the Chiefs quarterback responded to Tuberville's comments and said he was not recruited by him, per Gabriela Carroll of the Philadelphia Inquirer: "He did not recruit me at the time. I don't remember if I ever got to meet him or not.”

Tuberville was a former head coach with Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas Tech and Cincinnati. Mahomes played college football at Texas Tech, committing to the Red Raiders in April 2013, five months after Tuberville resigned from Texas Tech to go to Cincinnati.

Mahomes' coach at Texas Tech was Kliff Kingsbury, the current offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders
