Player grades, snap counts from Bears’ 8th straight loss

Another week, another disappointing showing from the Chicago Bears, who dropped their eighth straight in a lopsided loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Next up, the Bears host Detroit. First, though, let’s check out grades from the Monday night loss, courtesy of Pro Football Focus (minimum of 10 snaps played). For reference, a grade of 60.0 is considered average while those in the 30s are very poor and those in the 90s are elite.

Offense

  • TE Marcedes Lewis — 74.4
  • LG Teven Jenkins — 70.6
  • RT Darnell Wright — 70.2
  • C Coleman Shelton — 65.5
  • WR Rome Odunze — 65.2
  • RB D’Andre Swift — 64.9
  • WR DJ Moore — 63.7
  • RG Matt Pryor — 63.0

No surprise, the lowest-graded Bears on offense were LT Kiran Amegadjie (39.5), QB Caleb Williams (54.7) and TE Gerald Everett (55.1). The rookie left tackle was in a tough spot with Braxton Jones’ late scratch but allowed four pressures, a sack and a was called for four penalties. A rough night to say the least.

Defense

  • CB Jaylon Johnson — 73.0
  • DT Jonathan Ford — 72.5
  • S Elijah Hicks — 69.4
  • ED Darrell Taylor — 69.4
  • LB Tremaine Edmunds — 68.1
  • DE Austin Booker — 64.2
  • CB Tyrique Stevenson — 63.8
  • LB T.J. Edwards — 63.0
  • DE DeMarcus Walker — 61.5

The lowest-graded Bears defenders were DE Dominique Robinson (32.2), DE Montez Sweat (39.6) and CB Terell Smith (41.6) but several other guys had below-average grades.

There’s a lot for this group to figure out but most will have to be done over the offseason, which is just a few weeks away.
