Quinn Offers Scouting Report on Cowboys Biggest Move

Everyone knows everyone in the NFL coaching fraternity, and Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn has made many relationships during his time in the league.

Due to that, he has seen many of his friends who are coordinators become head coaches, and when that happens, you can't help but be happy for them.

That is the case with Brian Schottenheimer with the Dallas Cowboys.

Having worked together in Dallas and at other NFL stops along the way, Dan knows his newest NFC East coaching rival rather well, and he's got nothing but glowing words to say about "Schotty'' ... and Dallas' biggest offseason move.

“I've got so much regard for Brian,” Quinn said. “I actually worked with him years ago at the New York Jets, and it was then that I probably saw how excellent he was, but I knew then that he had rare things about him, and so it was an easy connection. To be on the same staff with him for two years (in Dallas) he helped me a lot, first as an analyst and then also obviously when he switched back to coaching on offense.

"So he's going to do a fantastic job, he's got high-level coaching, high-level reliability, and when you put those two things together, that's a really rare combination. He's got them both.”

So that is one serious endorsement for Schottenheimer as head coach, but the Cowboys and Commanders will be chasing the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East in 2025.

Washington knows it can't stay still, and free agency will again play a big part in how far the franchise will go next season, and the Commanders will be eyeing off the Cowboys and Schottenheimer as well.

Quinn knows a lot about Dallas' head coach, which fans hope will give the team an inside track to beating the Cowboys next season.

Dan and Schottenheimer are friends, but once game day comes around, they're rivals, and despite Brian's "rare combination," the Commanders hope that isn't enough for Dallas to climb above Washington in the NFC East race.
