Owner Mark Davis made major changes for the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. He hired Pete Carroll and John Spytek to be the team's new head coach and general manager, and with a regime shift, massive roster turnover was expected. Spytek already made a splashy trade for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith in early March, and he let half of the team's starting defenders from a season ago leave in free agency without a contract.

On Monday, however, the Raiders announced that they were re-signing five exclusive rights free agents. This included defensive linemen Matthew Butler and Charles Snowden, linebacker Kana'i Mauga, cornerback Sam Webb and guard Jordan Meredith.

Meredith started the final eight games on the offensive line for the Raiders last season and did a solid job while also only being called for one penalty. Webb has flashed before with Las Vegas, but he mainly served as a special teams player last season, as did Mauga, who played 251 snaps.

Snowden started off the year playing extremely well, recording 1.5 sacks through the first four games. However, the emergence of K'Lasvon Chaisson cut into his playing time, but he still recorded 39 tackles, including three for a loss last season. Butler only played 101 defensive snaps last season in seven games, but he recorded nine tackles for the Silver and Black. Spytek continues to sign cheap players this offseason, which is a major sign of trust in Pete Carroll and his staff to develop and get the best out of them.
