Raiders Officially Eliminated From Playoff Contention

Truth be told, the Las Vegas Raiders did better than most expected against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough, as Kansas City still came out with the win

That win ends up confirming something we've all seen coming for quite a while now, as the Raiders are now eliminated from playoff contention with their most recent loss.

Now sporting a 2-10 record, it's not much of a surprise that the Raiders are officially eliminated. It's something that's been on the horizon, as the Raiders are now on an eight-game skid. It's pretty much impossible to still have a chance for the playoffs when you haven't won a game in two months, and that's a situation the Raiders find themselves in now.

However, the season isn't worthless from here on out. Brock Bowers has been a delight to watch, and it will be interesting to see how his chances at the Offensive Rookie of the Year award play out as the season goes on.

In addition, there are a few players who we could continue to see grow this year as well. Edge rusher K'Lavon Chaisson had a great game on Friday. So did RB Sincere McCormick, and WR Tre Tucker. Those three are examples of young players on the roster who look like they're starting to figure things out, and could be future building blocks for the Raiders.

Aside from that, though, all eyes are now focused on the 2025 NFL Draft. The Raiders are set to have a top-two pick at the time of this writing. They'll have an excellent chance to select their quarterback of the future, and hopefully get the franchise on the right track.
