Rams Pull Off Unexpected Blockbuster Trade In NFL Draft

Les Snead and the Los Angeles Rams have all the intent of continuing to be competitive in seasons to come. With the Matthew Stafford situation sorted out because of a restructured deal,  Sean McVay can look ahead to the future, and there is no better way of doing this than in the NFL Draft.

The Rams have officially traded their 26th overall pick down in the 2025 NFL Draft. This means that the Atlanta Falcons will be moving up in the draft order, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Los Angeles will be getting the 46th overall pick of the Falcons alongside a 2026 first-round pick and a seventh-round pick in this year's NFL Draft. Atlanta, on the other hand, will get the 26th selection and a third-rounder too.

There is still no certainty about who Les Snead and Sean McVay would pick, but everyone is expecting a quarterback's name to be called.

For the 2025 NFL Draft, the Rams have a total of eight picks, which means that they are going to get a lot of developmental talent alongside a fair amount of plug-and-play guys.

There have been big names that were linked to the Rams prior to the draft. Michigan Wolverines star Will Johnson is the most prominent of them. Other guys like Colston Loveland, Emeka Egbuka from the Ohio State Buckeyes, Carson Scherswinger out of the UCLA Bruins, and Jihaad Campbell, who is an alum of the Alabama Crimson Tide, have all been mocked for the Rams.

Hopefully, this gamble for more assets and time to think does not bite the Rams back. After all, they only have such a short window to form a Super Bowl-winning squad around an aging Matthew Stafford

Will they make things work after this big NFL Draft decision?
