The New York Giants made a big-name selection early in the 4th round of the NFL Draft on Saturday, and quarterback Russell Wilson very much approved.

The Giants selected Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo with the 105th overall pick. Skattebo was a dynamic player in college, and the pick was a source of major excitement for a lot of Giants fans.

At least one Giants player was hyped about the selection as well. Wilson took to X to voice his own excitement with the selection.

It is easy to understand why Wilson and the Giants would be excited about this one. Skattebo is a power back who exploits holes and runs people over. There are some concerns about his speed, and he did not really rectify those during the pre-draft process, but he could certainly carve out a niche in the NFL with his skillset.

The Giants have Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary at running back, and they are likely to get most of the reps at the position. There is certainly a path for Skattebo to carve out a role for himself, however. If he is anything like the player Terrell Owens once compared him to, Wilson and the Giants will be thrilled.
