It's still unclear if the New Orleans Saints will have quarterback Derek Carr for the 2025 NFL season.
Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury, and there is a chance that he could miss the entire season since he is contemplating surgery.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis discussed the injury a little bit with the media on Wednesday, saying Carr hopes to get a resolution and more clarity in the future. He also confirmed that Carr does have a shoulder injury.

Loomis didn't answer any other questions about Carr after making his opening statement.
If Carr has to get surgery and miss the 2025 season, the Saints will potentially have to turn to Spencer Rattler or draft a quarterback during the 2025 NFL Draft, which starts on Thursday.
Even though Loomis said later during the presser that this is a "pre-draft press conference," the Carr injury does have a little bit to do with the draft because of the rest of their quarterback room.
Carr has been with the Saints for the last two seasons and only played in 10 games during the 2024 season, finishing with 2,145 yards through the air, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
He played in 17 games during the 2023 season, finishing with 3,878 yards through the air, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He had been with the Raiders for nine seasons before joining the Saints.
The Saints have the ninth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and could go in a number of different directions with the pick. They could take Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders if he falls to the pick, or they could get some help in the trenches.
