Shannon Sharpe Sends Pointed Message to Browns

The Cleveland Browns started off the offseason expected to trade Myles Garrett. Following his very public trade request, everything pointed to the Browns' franchise face leaving town.

Right before the start of free agency, however, Garrett had a "change of heart." He ended up agreeing to a massive four-year, $160 million contract extension to remain in Cleveland.

Garrett's agent made a statement about the superstar pass rusher changing his mind regarding the trade request.

“[Browns GM] Andrew Berry and I spent the last 36 hours getting the deal done, basically,” Garrett’s agent, Nicole Lynn, said. “Myles had a change of heart and he’s excited to go from Cleveland to Canton and chase a championship in Ohio."

Bringing Garrett back was a big step towards winning now. However, the Browns have another pressing need.

Shannon Sharpe, a former NFL star and current talk show analyst, sent a pointed message to Cleveland about its quarterback situation.

He doesn't think the Browns will be taken seriously until they find a legitimate starting quarterback.

“Cleveland, if you want to ever be taken serious, when you’re more than an afterthought, you’re gonna have to find a quarterback,” Sharpe said.

At this point in the offseason, a lot of quarterback options are off the board. Cleveland did pull off a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire Kenny Pickett.

Rumors have connected the Browns to Atlanta Falcons veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins. Joe Flacco has also been suggested as a potential option.

Another option could be Cleveland selecting a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. They have been connected often to both Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.

Expert NFL Draft analyst predicts wild Steelers Round 1 move for franchise QB

The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a tricky position at quarterback. After a season of highs and lows with Russell Wilson as the starter, the team seems to be waiting on the edge of their seats to see if 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers will commit to playing in Pittsburgh. Wilson had his moments but ultimately couldn't help the Steelers compete with the league’s top contenders, which was clear from the losing streak that ended the season. This uncertainty is likely why Pittsburgh is putting so much focus on Rodgers, hoping he can provide the stability and playmaking needed to contend for a Super Bowl. Even if the Steelers manage to land Rodgers or are stuck with Wilson for another season, they know they can’t ignore their future at quarterback. The team has been without a long-term plan at the position for several years, relying on short-term solutions that have kept them competitive but not elite. This lack of a definitive future quarterback is one reason they haven’t been able to secure a franchise signal caller in the draft, despite remaining above average as a team. In his latest mock draft released on Tuesday, NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah predicted the Steelers will make a surprising move at No. 21 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Jeremiah believes Pittsburgh will select Jaxson Dart, a quarterback who could provide the team with a fresh long-term solution under center. Dart, with his strong skill set and potential, could be the answer the Steelers need to finally secure stability at the position and build a future contender around him for seasons to come. "The Steelers’ plan at quarterback is not completely clear at the moment," Jeremiah said. "Even if they were to land 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers, they would still need a long-term option at the position, so they take another swing here with Dart." Sure, it’s a risky move, and the Steelers could certainly use help at other positions, particularly along the defensive line. That’s another valid route to take, but sometimes a calculated gamble on a quarterback is the best long-term strategy. Dart entered the draft with less hype than some of his peers, but as the process has unfolded, his stock has risen significantly. This makes it challenging for the Steelers to get legitimate value for him later in the draft, and taking him at No. 21 might be seen as a reach. Sometimes these gambles pay off, especially when you're desperate for a true franchise quarterback. But much like with Pickett, sometimes they go wrong quickly. Scared money doesn't make money and that's how the Steelers have to approach this draft. It’s true that drafting Dart at 21 could be considered an overreach, but as history has shown, taking a chance on a quarterback with potential can be the key to transforming a franchise. The Steelers know that, and if Dart is available, they should take the plunge. Sometimes, you have to make bold moves when your future at quarterback is uncertain, and for Pittsburgh, Dart might just be the solution they’ve been searching for. Steelers could have a shot at building long-term stability at QB The Steelers must proceed with caution, as drafting a quarterback can have both positive and negative consequences. If Pittsburgh is truly as high on Dart as some experts suggest, they should take the opportunity to draft him and let him develop behind whichever veteran starts in the 2025 season. The situation at quarterback has been in limbo for years, and it’s clear that something needs to change. Drafting Dart would provide a much-needed chance to secure a young franchise quarterback and finally put an end to the uncertainty that has plagued the position every offseason. At the very least, it gives the Steelers a shot at building long-term stability.

New Maple Leafs Defenseman Calls Joining Toronto 'Hot Water'

It's been nearly two weeks since defenseman Brandon Carlo was traded from the rivaling Boston Bruins to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 6-foot-5 blue liner that spent parts of all nine seasons of his NHL career in Boston was exchanged on the day of the trade deadline for a first-round selection in the 2026 NHL Draft (top-five protected), a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and forward Fraser Minten. He's played five games since then, recording an assist and a plus-one rating while playing on Toronto's top pairing alongside Morgan Rielly. "I mean, talk about getting thrown in the hot water there for a second," Carlo said. "It's been like, what, nine days since I played my first game with these guys with Toronto? It seems like a lot more. So much has happened. "Yeah, it seems so long ago that we faced Colorado in that first game. Now we're playing them again, and I feel a lot more comfortable than I did that night, more comfortable overall at being a Maple Leaf." Carlo has two years left on the six-year, $24.6 million contract ($4.1 million AAV) he signed with Boston in 2021, with the team retaining 15% of his salary. Carlo was on the ice for four goals in the first period he wore a Maple Leafs uniform—two for each team. By the game's end, he had six blocked shots in a team-leading 22:04, showcasing how head coach Craig Berube plans to trust him heading toward playoffs. "I love playing against the top guys, and they have a couple of them on their team," Carlo said. "And it was honestly a nice comfort to be able to know that I could see my family after the game with all the mayhem going on. But overall, I've just been trying to implement myself as much as I can right away, getting comfortable with the guys. Everybody here has been super nice, super kind, and that's made the transition a bit easier. "Like I said, I'm settling in now, I enjoy being here, I enjoy being part of this team. So, each day has gotten better in terms of not feeling out of place at times, I guess you could say, just because it's been a big change. Overall, then, feeling pretty good."

Mark Wahlberg's latest action film ends 26-year streak for actor

Mark Wahlberg, known for his impressive track record in action films, takes on a new challenge as he steps into the role of a villain for only the second time in his illustrious career. Known for his blockbuster performances in films like "Transformers" and "Uncharted," Wahlberg has masterfully combined action with diverse roles to become one of the industry’s most bankable stars. With "Flight Risk," he breaks new ground by playing a killer masquerading as a pilot. "Flight Risk" defies the odds and ends Wahlberg’s remarkable 26-year streak of action movies grossing over $50 million at the box office. Despite its initial promising start, securing the No. 1 spot at the box office, the movie faced unexpected hurdles, leading to a decline in audience interest. Good News On The Movie This film also marks a significant collaboration between Wahlberg and Mel Gibson. Gibson, famed for his directorial success with movies grossing over $100 million, joins forces with Wahlberg to create a fun cinematic experience. Despite not reaching its anticipated box office milestones, "Flight Risk" is far from a setback. With a budget of $25 million, this movie showcases impressive cinematography and action sequences that attest to the dedication of its cast and crew. Set against a backdrop of tension and intrigue, the film employs every tool at its disposal to create a thrilling atmosphere, one where betrayal lurks at every corner and the stakes are impossibly high. The choice of releasing "Flight Risk" in January, typically a less-competitive month for major releases, was strategic, aiming to capture audiences hungry for high-octane thrillers post-holiday season. While it didn’t achieve the financial success initially projected, the movie still offers a visual spectacle and storyline that challenges traditional action film narratives. Final Thoughts This movie falls victim to the problem many films are dealing with. Moviegoers aren’t flocking to the theaters anymore. "Mickey 17" is already heading to digital after three weeks of being in the theaters. Many other movies have had disappointing box office numbers but succeeded once they were released on streaming services. This is something that all studios have to deal with and will be something to watch out for in 2025. If the box office numbers continue to struggle, Hollywood will have to strategize a new path forward.

Logan Mailloux sends clear message to Kent Hughes and Canadiens after being mentioned in trade rumors

When Logan Mailloux made his debut with the Laval Rocket, it was clear that he had offensive talent, but his defensive game left something to be desired. He had dominated at the junior level, but upon turning pro, he had to adjust quickly. According to head coach Pascal Vincent, this is a normal process. He mentioned that Josh Morrissey took three years in the minors before becoming an established NHL defenseman. For Mailloux, it will take as long as necessary. He is well aware that his name has circulated in various trade rumors for multiple reasons, including concerns about his defensive game, but he made sure to send a clear message in response! Logan Mailloux responds to trade rumors The encouraging part is that Mailloux has indeed focused heavily on improving his defense this season. He said it himself, per reporter Dave Levesque: "Last year, I was getting beat too easily because I wasn't moving my feet enough. Now, I'm better at keeping up with opponents and shutting plays down." Naturally, his offensive production has declined (29 points in 48 games compared to 47 points in 72 games last year). According to him, it's a necessary sacrifice to become a more well-rounded defenseman. Another positive: He's taking fewer penalties. His penalty minutes dropped from 91 last season to 60 this year. He says he still needs to find the right balance between physical play and discipline, but he's making progress. Mailloux remains an intriguing prospect, but with the Canadiens' right side getting crowded with David Reinbacher, he will need to step up if he wants to secure a spot with the big club. Could Kent Hughes still trade him this summer to acquire a second-line center? It's possible, especially since the Canadiens already attempted to send him to the Ducks last year in a deal for Trevor Zegras. Mailloux wants to earn his place in the NHL, but will it be with the Canadiens or elsewhere? Stay tuned...
