Social media reacts to 49ers' Super Bowl berth
Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

After the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game, earning a spot against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, fans celebrated their favorite team's accomplishment on X (formerly Twitter).

Detroit native and rap superstar Eminem was in attendance at Levi's Stadium. He gave the 49ers Faithful the finger in the second quarter when the Lions were up 24-7 but "lost himself" by the end of the game.

49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel joined fans in trolling Lions cornerback CJ Gardner-Johnson.

Fans reacted to the ongoing narrative that quarterback Brock Purdy is merely a "game manager."

Even sports pundits of the national media gave Brock Purdy credit for leading the 49ers to their eighth Super Bowl appearance.

After expressing fatigue from the Purdy hate, Pat McAfee, the host of ESPN's "Pat McAfee Show," said the second-year quarterback has "it."

ESPN sports analyst Ryan Clark stated the second-year quarterback did his thing after last night's performance.

The former Pittsburg Steelers player had previously said the hardest thing he had to do was act like Purdy deserves to be in the same conversation as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen, considering all of the talent he has around him.

The week of the Divisional Round, former Raiders CEO Amy Trask said there were "seven terrific quarterbacks and Brock Purdy" in the playoffs. After Purdy's performance in the NFC Championship Game, she sang a different tune.

FS1's sports analyst Emmanuel Acho discussed how the NFL didn't talk about Purdy's escapability like the Baltimore quarterback.
