Steelers Announce Addition to Defensive Coaching Staff

As the Pittsburgh Steelers attempt to recover from a disappointing season many changes are expected. While most of the changes will come in the form of roster moves the coaching staff isn't safe ... as we've already seen.

On Wednesday, the team announced another move.

The Steelers announced the hiring of Scott McCurley as their new inside linebackers coach, replacing Aaron Curry who moved on to the Jets' staff earlier this year.

McCurley spent the past five years as the linebackers coach for the Dallas Cowboys and spent 13 seasons with the Packers.

Pittsburgh has also announced the hiring of Gerald Alexander this offseason but have not yet made any moves on the offensive side of the ball.

As Mike Tomlin enters his 18th season on the Steelers' sideline, drastic improvements are expected after a collapse at the end of the season that saw a three-game division lead evaporate before Pittsburgh secured a Wild Card spot in the AFC playoffs.

The Steelers ended the season on a five-game losing streak including a playoff loss to the Ravens in the first round.
