Steelers' Cassius Marsh: Patriots 'treat players like crap'

Current Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker/defensive end Cassius Marsh played only nine games with the New England Patriots during the 2017 season. He was waived in November of that year after he reportedly confronted coach Bill Belichick following a game about a perceived lack of playing time, and Marsh later went on to say there was "nothing fun" about playing for the Patriots.

Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Marsh hit out at his former employer again during a recent appearance on comedian Tom Segura’s podcast.

"The Patriot Way is extremely impressive," Marsh explained. "They work day-in and day-out. Their work ethic over there, what they instill, is pretty legendary. But they also treat players like crap. You don’t have a lunch period. You get there and you have to make time to eat in between meetings. And they’re like five to 10 minute periods where I would literally go scoop food and put it in a cup and crush it real quick before I got to the next meeting. There’s no fun. There’s no — well, that is what I got in trouble for, for saying they don’t have fun."

Many have noted that current Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is living his best life since ditching the so-called "Patriot Way" to sign with the Bucs in March 2020.

Marsh, meanwhile, re-signed with the Steelers on a one-year contract this past March.
