Teams That Are Still In The Kirk Cousins Hunt

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins is still waiting to see what happens with his future, and there are teams in the league that could use experience like Cousins to lead them to a playoff run. Here's who could benefit and why.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

One of the most likely scenarios are the Pittsburgh Steelers, who currently have Mason Rudolph as the starting quarterback. They also have Skylar Thompson who they signed from Miami to compete for a backup role. The Steelers could look to add a veteran presence and a potential starter.

The Steelers would hope to not have to pay as much guaranteed money as the Falcons hope they will pay for Cousins. With D.K. Metcalf and George Pickens, Cousins would have some good weapons to throw to.

2. Minnesota Vikings

The reunion that Cousins could go for, if possible. Sam Darnold recently signed with the Seattle Seahawks leaving the Minnesota Vikings with J.J. McCarthy, who had an injury his whole rookie season. McCarthy will have to compete with Cousins if the trade happens, as Cousins had his best seasons as a Viking.

Cousins would reunite with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and would already be familiar with the scheme and playbook.

3. Cleveland Browns

This is a stab in the dark, as the Cleveland Browns already have three quarterbacks on the roster in Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco and Keny Pickett. Pickett is coming off a Super Bowl championship as a backup on the Eagles, while Flacco looks to repeat of the 2023 season and lead the Browns to another playoff berth.

Cousins would mainly be competing with Flacco and Pickett, as Watson might be out for the 2025 season.

These teams are all in the hunt still for Cousins, and any one of them could benefit from Cousins fighting for a starting job.
