Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans lost a heartbreaker against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 13 action. After heading into overtime and kicking a field goal to take the lead in that period, the team’s defense allowed Gardner Minshew to lead a touchdown drive to win the game. With the loss, the Titans dropped to 4-8 on the season, but the health of Henry was a major question mark after the game.
He took a massive hit in the second half and was forced to leave due to potential concussion symptoms. Fans have been waiting to get an update on his potential status for Week 14.
Mike Vrabel, the Titans’ head coach, spoke out on Monday and revealed a major update on Henry. He stated that the superstar running back is actually not in concussion protocol.
“We checked on him last night, then checked on him in the morning.”

Thankfully, it appears that the injury will not force Henry to miss more time moving forward. He certainly dodged a bullet, as it appeared that he did have a concussion when he originally took the hit.
In Week 14, the Titans will try to rebound from their tough loss against the Colts. They will take on the Miami Dolphins on the road in what will be a really hard game. Having Derrick Henry on the field will be a must for the Titans to have a shot at pulling off the upset.
So far this season, Henry has been a huge part of the equation for Tennessee. However, he has had a bit of a down season from what has become expected of him.
He has carried the football 197 times for 841 yards and eight touchdowns. In addition to those rushing numbers, he has caught 22 passes for 185 yards. The numbers aren’t amazing, but he’s still a major threat each and every week.
At 29 years of age, Derrick Henry’s future with the Titans seems to be in question. He’s set to hit free agency in the offseason and there were many trade rumors surrounding him before the deadline. It will be interesting to see if he’s back in Nashville next season or suiting up for another team.
