Titans Release 6 Players Ahead of NFL Draft

After finishing the 2024 season with the worst record in the NFL, the Tennessee Titans' ownership group made a massive change during the offseason. While they did keep head coach Brian Callahan on board, they replaced general manager Ran Carthon with Mike Borgonzi, a longtime executive for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Since taking the job, Borgonzi has made it known that he intends to turn the roster over. During free agency, the team brought in plenty of new blood and either released former starters or let them leave without contracts. On Wednesday, the Titans announced that they were waiving or releasing six more players ahead of the NFL Draft.

The team did not get rid of any major contributors on Wednesday, but this was a significant number of players to get rid of at this point in the offseason. The list includes linebacker Curtis Bolton, wide receiver Stanley Morgan, defensive tackles McTelvin Agim and Isaiah Iton, defensive back Gervarrius Owens and guard Logan Bruss.

Only Owens and Bruss stepped on the field for the Titans last year, combining for 16 special teams snaps in five appearances. The move brought the roster size down to 65, which means the franchise will have to add 25 players before OTAs begin.

With only eight picks in the NFL Draft, the Titans will need to do extensive work in the undrafted free agent market and will need to add several more veterans to round out the roster. However, given Borgonzi's background with a successful franchise, there must be a method to the madness.
