Tom Brady will be at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday to call the NFC Championship between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
Not many people expected the Commanders to make it this far in the playoffs. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has been fearless throughout the postseason, racking up 567 passing yards, 87 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the past two games. He looked unfazed on the road last weekend against the No. 1 seed in the Detroit Lions.
As for the Eagles, they've been leaning on their front seven and incredible rushing attack this postseason. Saquon Barkley had over 200 rushing yards in last weekend's thrilling win over the Los Angeles Rams.
During an appearance on the "Let's Go!" podcast this week, Brady offered his thoughts on the Commanders-Eagles game. He views Washington as a team playing with nothing to lose. That could be bad news for Philadelphia, especially if Daniels plays well.
"Washington is playing with house money," Brady said. "No one expects much of them, but they have a really close team and they're going to fight until the end. if the young quarterback plays flawless, it's going to come down to on drive at the end of the game."
At the end of the day though, Brady believes the Eagles will overwhelm the Commanders with their great defense.
"The difference in this game with the Commanders and the Eagles is the Eagles got a really great defense. They got a D-line that can make an impact. They can stop the run without having to shove extra bodies up there. We'll see how the injuries in the Eagles' secondary, if [Quinyon] Mitchell can play, how that affects them. Certainly, the Eagles are the favorite for a reason. They've had an incredible season. If the Eagles play well, I think they're moving on."
The Commanders and Eagles split their regular-season meetings this past fall. It's worth noting that Jalen Hurts got knocked out of the second game with a concussion.
Hurts is nursing a knee injury this week, but he's expected to play for the Eagles. He just might be a little compromised.
Kickoff for the NFC Championship is at 3 p.m. ET on FOX. Regardless of the result, the NFC East will be represented in the Super Bowl.
