With the 2025 NFL Draft under one week away, the Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to add more young talent to a roster already filled with it.

The last three years of consecutive Super Bowl appearances have come from the brilliance of general manager Brett Veach, head coach Andy Reid, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, for the deployment of this youth, the picks themselves, and the impact they've made on both sides of the ball.

The Chiefs will be looking to continue their "draft and development" approach, which has garnered them success in recent seasons. Players such as Kingsley Suamataia, Jaden Hicks, and Xavier Worthy all had prominent roles through and late into the season. Now, they must continue their process in what is expected to be a depth-heavy draft.

Kansas City has an offensive line problem, specifically on the left side of the unit where Jaylon Moore and Suamataia are both expected to start at left tackle and left guard, respectively. The team could look to add more talent at either spot in the NFL Draft. One player has come up as an indirect possibility while being compared to a top player on the roster

Alabama interior offensive lineman Tyler Booker is one of the top players at his position, with some arguing that he is the best. In a player comparison of the Top 100 prospects in the draft done by CBS Sports, NFL Draft writer Josh Edwards compared Booker to Chiefs right guard Trey Smith.

"Talent evaluators had to trust the film on Trey Smith coming into the NFL Draft because he had been dealing with an injury," Edwards wrote. "Tyler Booker is a trust the tape prospect as well. Despite possessing prototypical size, his athletic profile is not that of a player often taken in the first round."

Booker projects as a potential late first, early second round player who is a physical defender in the trenches with impressive movement ability similar to Smith when he was drafted out of Tennessee. The first-team All-American guard would be a welcome addition to any offense in need of a starting guard who brings a physical demeanor to the offensive line.

While it was not to say Booker should be a possibility at No. 31 overall in the draft, he is certainly not off the table as one. A similar skill set to Smith at left guard would give the Chiefs a mammoth in the middle of the field.
