Vikings to play game in London during 2024 season
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Vikings will play a game in London as part of their 2024 regular season schedule, the NFL announced on Thursday. The Bears and Jaguars will also play games in London as part of the league's international series, while the Panthers will play a game in Munich. Opponents, dates, and kickoff times won't be announced until May, when the rest of the schedule comes out.

The game will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is where the Vikings played the Saints in 2022.

As part of the NFL's global markets program, the Vikings have marketing rights in England, as well as Canada. The program "grants NFL clubs access to international markets for marketing, fan engagement and commercialization activations as part of an important, long-term strategic effort to enable clubs to build their brands globally while driving NFL fan growth beyond the US." It also seems to mean that the Vikings are more likely than the average team to play in London; this will be their second trip overseas in three seasons.

The Vikings are 3-0 all-time in London games. They beat the Steelers at Wembley Stadium in 2013, then beat the Browns at Twickenham Stadium in 2017. In 2022, they beat the Saints 28-25.

Not only is it currently unknown who the Vikings will play in this game or when it will happen, it's also TBD if it'll count as a home game or a road game. The Vikings will have nine home games and eight road games in 2024, but they'll be hoping not to lose one of those home contests. In 2022, the game counted as a Saints home game, meaning the Vikings had nine home matchups and only seven true road games.
