MIAMI - Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku went on social media and teased the Browns fans of what they hope to expect in the future.
In the video going viral posting, Njoku has his camera fixated on his front door. Shortly thereafter, University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward comes walking in. The two exchange pleasantries and Ward just utters the word "Cleveland" over and over again. The video ends with Njoku laughing at Ward and then it goes dark.
The Browns would love for Ward to spend more time with Njoku (also an ex-Hurricane) as a member of the 2025 Browns draft class. The two are currently working out together and are part of the Miami Hurricanes fraternity of NFL players.
Browns fans would have to pray awfully hard the Tennessee Titans do not select Ward with the No. 1 pick. The Titans are said to be high on Ward and are looking for him to replace Will Levis as the starting quarterback. It would take a miracle of biblical proportions for Ward not to go to Tennessee.
The Browns have their fingers crossed and are holding out hope. In the interim, the Browns and general manager Andrew Perry are exercising their due diligence on the top quarterbacks in the draft. There has been discussion of Berry trying to get Tennessee to trade the pick, but those talks have simmered and appear to be all but dead.
Regardless, when players see other players in a certain city they think it is a dead give away of where the player is going to be drafted. No such luck. While Ward might welcome the idea of playing for Kevin Stefanski and the Browns, it appears as though he is going to be a member of the Titans come April 26.
Experts have said if Ward is the first pick, Cleveland might opt for Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter. Carter would make the most sense as there is no other quarterback worthy of being selected that high. Cleveland could get a fine draftee in later rounds.
Ward will be back here in Miami this weekend as his Pro Day is Monday, March 24. The Browns plan on being adequately represented to watch Ward who is scheduled to throw.
