Minnesota is known for its cold weather, so it's fitting the Vikings now have a uniform nicknamed the "Winter Warrior."
On Thursday, the Minnesota Vikings unveiled a new alternate uniform that the club calls "the coldest in the game." The new threads are almost entirely white except for purple numbers and a gray stripe on the helmet, an ode to the metal stripping on ancient Viking battle helmets.

This marks the first time the Vikings have featured a jersey without a purple helmet and gold in the color scheme.
"Like Viking warriors, Minnesotans are battled-tested, resilient and tough," Vikings art director Jackie Ramacher said, per the team website. "We are not only bonded by our harsh, cold winters, but we embrace them and any challenges that come our way. We adapt and overcome while never losing sight of our goal. These uniforms truly celebrate Minnesota and Nordic Viking culture."
In a video shared to the team's X account, star wide receiver Justin Jefferson seemed to approve and head coach Kevin O'Connell asked, "Where's mine?"

The team will wear this uniform against the Chicago Bears on "Monday Night Football" on Dec. 16. Kevin Seifert of ESPN noted that the Week 15 rollout will be part of the team's "Winter Whiteout," in which players wears white pants and a white uniform. The Vikings did this in 2022 and 2023 but donned their typical purple helmet.
In April, the NFL allowed teams to add a third helmet to their wardrobes. The rule change clearly gave artists more freedom, helping them create striking designs.
Along with the Vikings, the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans and Detroit Lions have added alternate uniforms this offseason.
